The Beginning Of My Family Tree

This is my first time attempting a blog, of any kind, so please bare with me. I decided to start this blog in an effort to put together a family tree. I know there are several 'pay' sites that charge an arm and a leg to access family information, but I also realize that, like myself, there are a lot of people who can't afford such services.
I intend to add several photos of my of my relatives to my blog as well as newspaper clippings and some scanned hand written documents that have been discovered over the years.

I'm also creating this blog in an effort to help other people perhaps connect with parts of their own families that they didn't even know existed, and in doing this, maybe others can help me in doing the same.

  1. My children Paternal line is MacNeil (Malcolm Roderick MacNeil 1899-1978son of Michael John MacNeil and Mary MacNeil) from Cape Breton NS I have a tree started on Familysearch.org (free) and they all have DNA done through familytree and have many matches to MacNeil Malcolm was married to Anne Gillies from Scotland and they married and farmed in the Sexsmith Alberta area. My sister in law Lorna is still living and is doing some MacNeil history and has most of the Nova Scotia lines
